Beauty will save the World

In 1995 СIDEСKO, the International Committee of Aesthetics and Cosmetology, proclaimed September 9 as International Beauty Day.

That's why I wanna share with you my thoughts about Caudalie beauty elixir. According to the creators of Caudalie: they were inspired by Queen Isabelle of Hungary’s elixir of youth; this treatment smooths away fine lines, tightens pores and gives the complexion a real boost of radiance.
They recommend: Shake before use. Hold the bottle 30 cm from your face. Avoid the eyes. Spray onto the face before your moisturizer and at any time of the day, to refresh the skin and set make-up.
A professional tutorial ;)

They assure: 0% parabens, phenoxyethanol. Against animal testing. 100% natural fragrance.
According to www.cultbeauty.co.uk, it's great for smokers and an ideal after-shave for men. *WOW*

There are two types of bottles: regular (100 ml or 3.4 fl. oz.) and travel-size (30 ml or 1 fl. oz.)

In celebration of the cult product’s 20th anniversary (can you believe, it exists since 1996?!) the Caudalie's co-founder Mathilde Thomas collaborated with Сanadian fashion designer Jason Wu. As a result we have a series of 50,000 limited-edition bottles. Lace is definitely in the DNA of his brand and it's officially confirmed now. Most of all I enjoy a new gold top and new size of a sprayer, which is wider than in previous version. It is more comfortable for me. Also it is easier to open / close the bottle, I mean your moves will be smoothly. *TBH I had difficulties with an opening / closing the standart version*

"When thinking about ‘dressing’ the bottle I imagined how I intend to dress the Jason Wu woman, which is about refinement and sophistication." — Jason Wu, Fashion Designer

Opinion: Initially this elixir indeed tightens pores, then I think there is an accustoming to the formula a bit. Anyway it always boosts inner radiance and tones my skin. It helped me out during session periods at the Uni. Thinking logically, that's due to the components' activity. One more thing, I like "against animal testing" position and the company's "1% for the Planet" membership alongside with supporting the WWF.
Let's check out the original list of ingredients:
AQUA (WATER) - safe (or +)
ALCOHOL* - In cosmetic labeling, the term "alcohol," used by itself, refers to ethyl alcohol. Cosmetic products, including those labeled "alcohol free," may contain other alcohols, such as cetyl, stearyl, cetearyl, or lanolin alcohol. These are known as fatty alcohols, and their effects on the skin are quite different from those of ethyl alcohol. Isopropyl alcohol, which some consumers may think of as drying the skin, is rarely used in cosmetics. - FDA approved (?)
I am not brilliant in chemistry science, but my brain tells me: nothing personal, just business. In my humble opinion even "plant origin alcohol" may be harmful for the skin and damages it, especially if your skin is extremely sensetive. If not, it's probably not the best, but a common practice.
CITRUS AURANTIUM AMARA (BITTER ORANGE) FLOWER WATER* +
PARFUM (FRAGRANCE)* - Some individuals may be allergic or sensitive to certain ingredients in cosmetics, food, or other products, even if those ingredients are safe for most people. Some components of fragrance formulas may have a potential to cause allergic reactions or sensitivities for some people. So, if you are concerned about fragrance sensitivities, you may want to choose products that are fragrance free, and check the ingredient list carefully. If consumers have questions, they may choose to contact the manufacturer directly. - FDA approved (?)
ROSMARINUS OFFICINALIS (ROSEMARY) LEAF OIL* - antimicrobial agent + skin conditioning agent + occlusive
POTASSIUM ALUM - may be a weak irritant to the skin. - Wikipedia.org
GLYCERIN* - make sure that humidity in the room is about 65% because of glycerin's hygroscopic nature, otherwise it will instead draw moisture out of the lower layers of your skin.
MENTHA PIPERITA (PEPPERMINT) OIL* - safe, sometimes may cause allergic reaction after exposure
STYRAX TONKINENSIS RESIN EXTRACT* - is classified as PERFUMING SKIN CONDITIONING *not enough information*
COMMIPHORA MYRRHA RESIN EXTRACT* - Myrrh is well-known for its astringent and antiseptic properties.
MELISSA OFFICINALIS (BALM MINT) LEAF OIL* - About melissa oil *not sure it's about this particular ingredient*: "Due to the negligible skin contact from these types of products there is no justification for a restriction of the concentration of this fragrance ingredient in the finished product." - The international fragrance association (IFRA)
ROSA DAMASCENA FLOWER OIL* +
VITIS VINIFERA (GRAPE) FRUIT EXTRACT* +
TOCOPHEROL* - Tocopherols (TCP) are a class of organic chemical compounds (more precisely, various methylated phenols), many of which have vitamin E activity, with the ending "-ol" signifying its status as a chemical alcohol. - Wikipedia.org
CITRAL* - common in cosmetics, has allergenic potential. CONTRAINDICATIONS: Individual hypersensitivity
LIMONENE* - is common in cosmetic products as a fragrance. Limonene and its oxidation products are skin and respiratory irritants. There is no evidence for carcinogenicity or genotoxicity in humans (?)
LINALOOL* - is a naturally occurring terpene alcohol chemical found in many flowers and spice plants with many commercial applications, the majority of which are based on its pleasant scent (floral, with a touch of spiciness). - Wikipedia.org
CITRONELLOL* - Citronellol is subject to restrictions on its use in perfumery, as some people may become sensitised to it, but the degree to which citronellol can cause an allergic reaction in humans is disputed. - Wikipedia.org
GERANIOL* - an alcohol, it has a rose-like scent and is commonly used in perfumes. Geraniol is classified as D2B (Toxic materials causing other effects) using the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS). Geraniol is considered a severe eye (and moderate skin) irritant. - Wikipedia.org [7]
FARNESOL* - it is an alcohol, which is used as a deodorant in cosmetic products because of its anti-bacterial activity. Farnesol is subject to restrictions on its use in perfumery as some people may become sensitised to it, however the evidence that farnesol can cause an allergic reaction in humans is disputed. - Wikipedia.org
BENZYL BENZOATE* - may be a skin irritant.
EUGENOL* - is used in perfumes, flavorings, and essential oils. It is also used as a local antiseptic and anaesthetic, because of its has a slight drying, cleaning and analgesic effects on problem skin. May be an allergen.

* Plant origin

Here we are. Most of components are really plant origin. At the same time organic oils have dualistic nature. On the one hand they have not only a pleasant smell, some of them have an antimicrobial effect; others contain antioxidants; third soothe irritated skin, etc. On the other hand,  it is known that certain essential oils increase the skin's sensitivity to ultraviolet radiation and also we can't eliminate the possibility of an individual intolerance of citrus or floral oils / extracts.
To use or not to use? Such a good question. This is a stick sharpened at both ends. In my opinion the similar situation is with drugs: they help or harm as well. C'est la vie.

As for me, I’m a huge fan of Caudalie beauty elixir! I am really "hooked on" the smell of well-known eau de beauty, it makes me feel relaxed or alive, depending on the situation. I assume it's all about neuromarketing things, but let it be my guilty pleasure, pleaseeeeeee <3
